I've got you, you got me
I've got you, you got me (2016)
Media Arts Installation
Alberta University of the Arts
An Installation in three parts which highlights the decision to become bound to another being. This iteration considers a woman’s decision to become a mother set against the timeline of fertility. The first section reflects two potential bodies through the adult sized chair and the child sized chair. The contrast of these chairs reflects both a conversation with the inner child and a potential future child. I’ve got you, you got me (2016) includes a previous piece Export Tantrum (2016) as a rhythmic presentation of baby. The third and final section is a digital mirroring feedback loop where the viewer is invited to sit in front of a crib. This image places the viewer in a cage while the repeating image of the feedback loop references a reiterative cycle of continuing a family bloodline.
